Los Angeles Cameraman

Welcome...

I'm a shooter who's been a big believer in Panasonic's P2 format since 2006. I got my first taste of P2 when I started shooting with Panasonic's well-regarded HVX200. At the time, I loved the idea of using solid-state media to record my footage, instead of a moving tape. I loved recording each shot as an individual file. I loved playing back any shot without rewinding/fast forwarding. I loved off-loading footage with a simple cable, instead of an expensive tape deck. And I loved being able to archive gobs of footage using a hard drive or two (now LTO4 tape), instead of managing dozens/hundreds of tapes.

Since those early days of 2006, P2 gotten far more capable and made its way into a lot more cameras. I'm meeting more P2 and potential P2 shooters, not to mention producers who want to take advantage of a modern, solid-state workflow. So I'm writing this blog to spread the word, and get in touch with other people who are using P2 effectively. Please join the conversation...
